This guide will take you through the steps needed to add certificates to trainings.

In this example the employee has a Menu item that stores all of the academies that the person has acquired throughout their time in your company.

Step-by-step Guide

Imagine you were to give a Certificate after completing a GDPR Academy. We will use this example going through the steps.

Building a bit of structure around the Certificates

  • Create a manual Group and call it "Onboarding Certificate 2023".

This group will collect all employees who complete your academy. It also serves as the group that provides access to the Certificate when ready.

  • Create a new Category and Call it "Certificate" (Admin Access required!)

Building the list to store Academies

  • Create a new Message and call it "Certificate List".

  • Add a feed and set it to use your new Category "Certificate".

  • Use the Graphic Design package to add a cool banner on the Message. You can download the template used in this scenario at the bottom of the page.

This Message will list all Academies that the employees has acquired over time.

  • Edit your Menu and Create a new menu item that you link to your newly created "Certificate list" Message.

Pro Tips ๐Ÿ‘: Add an emoji to the text to give it a little sparkle ๐Ÿ†

Building the Certificate

  • Create a new Message and call it "GDPR Certificate 2023".

  • Add your Certificate picture created in Figma (download template here) or another content tool such as Powerpoint, Photoshop etc. My dimensions are 1200x1374 pixel.

  • Publish your Certificate message to your manual group and add the category "Certificate". The group has 0 contacts but once we fix the flow below, it will start to grow and provide access to the Certificate.

  • Add a button under the picture called "Visit training again". Add the action Go to Academy and add your Academy for this Certificate.

Pro Tips ๐Ÿ‘: I am adding "2023" so that we can create a new version of the academy and launch in 2024.

Also notice that we are adding the first name, last name and employee id in a text field above the Certificate. As these data comes from the backend of your platform they will always demonstrate exactly who owns the Certificate. If a manager asks to see a Certificate in the app from an employee it will be hard to fake as the person can not control these data themselves. And by looking into the app it will not be possible to show a screenshot. Further evaluation data can be added if you wish.

Build the Flow

  • Create a congratulation message that you can add to the end of an Academy where you wish to connect a Certificate.

  • Create a button on the congratulation message and add two actions. Add to group + Go to message. Use your "GDPR Certificate 2023" group and add go to message "GDPR Certificate 2023). Mine looks like this.

Pro Tips ๐Ÿ‘: Add a button image. Create it yourself of use Figma template to make it yours.

  • Now go to your Academy / Create a new Academy where you wish to add a Certificate.

Pro Tips ๐Ÿ‘: In order to control the flow and make sure the setup is bullet proof, I recommend the following settings in your Academy. Unlock training by training makes sure you can not jump straight to the Congratulation message and passing score of a 100 forces people to answer all your potential quizzes correct.

  • Now go ahead and add the Congratulation message as the last message in your Academy.

Test it and go live

  • Publish the Academy to yourself and go through the flow. You should experience the following.

When you access the congratulation message and click the button going to your certification message you will also be added to the group. As the Certificate has been pre-published to this group you will now have access. As you also added the Category "Certificate" to the Certificate and the Message in the menu, you now have all the ingredients for making the Certificate pop-up in your Certificate menu list.
